Garden Gate

As you can see, I now have all of the pieces cut, formed and welded into place. I still need to permanently attach the copper leaves to the vines, but will hold-off until I decide how I will apply the patinias to the garden gate project. I like the natural rust patina that has formed on one side of the steel that comprises the frog's body, however, the other side is lacking a developed rust patina. I could accelerate the rust process on the other side of the frog's body and hightlight with green...
The garden gate ventures outdoors for the first time! At this point I have also submitted a CAD drawing to the client, illustrating potential hinge and latch configurations, which will facilitate a final determination on the garden gate's "handing" or direction of opening.
Here, I have mocked-up a proposed hinge arrangement next to a piece of scrap square tubing I had lying around. The tubing represents the post supporting the Pergola. After we sort out the garden gate's "handing" (or direction of swing), I complete the welds.
