Metal Address Post

metal address post

This project began as a structure to support an entry keypad for the Bear Gate. However, as is often the case, it evolved into something else, for instance: a metal address post. The home owner's name and/or street number will hang below the metal outrigger via two pieces of small chain.

The main post consists of two inch square steel tubing. I attached a spare finial I had to the top, as well as an old rail road spike to serve as the upper attachment point for the decorative chain. I had a piece of one inch square radiused tubing lying around, so I cut it into two pieces and inverteded them to create the shape that penetrates the main post. I also had two sphere halves, which I welded together and attached to the outter end of the radiused arm.

I would be happy to create a similar metal address post for your project - just contact me: HERE

By the way... you may have noticed that no patina has been applied yet. We could powder coat the address post in any color or leave it develop a natural rust patina.
